Water shortage hits KATH; surgeries suspended

The fate of some patients hangs in the balance at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi as water shortage compels officials to put surgeries on hold.

Luv News checks at the Accident and Emergency Unit indicate that some patients who had been scheduled to undergo operation have been left in uncertainty.

Public Relations Officer at Komfo Anokye Hospital, Kwame Frimpong, confirmed the development.

He explained the situation, according to the Ghana Water Company, is the result of unstable power to guarantee uninterrupted supply of water to the hospital.

Mr. Frimpong, however, said authorities were doing everything possible to overcome the challenge that the development had brought on the facility.
