One injured in Methodist Church building collapse

A church building said to belong to the Methodist Church-Ghana at Sakaman, a suburb of Accra, has caved in, TV3 News has gathered. No death was recorded though one person is reported to be seriously injured.

TV3’s Komla Klutse, who got to the scene few minutes after the incident, reports that the pastor of the church was not available at the time of the incident while the deacon declined to speak on record.

An eye witness told Komla Klutse that it is the third time part of the building has ripped off and she suspects poor work from contractors.

The Dansoman Divisional Police Commander, DSP Susan Adjei, suspects architectural failure on the part of the builders.

“The pillar in the building is not supporting the building. It is supposed to hold it firm,” DSP Adjei said.
