NGOs working to reduce concerns of Sherigu-Nyorkoko

Better Life Aid and Tours, a Non Governmental Organisation, is working to alleviate the plight of the Sherigu-Nyorkoko community of the Upper East Region.

The NGO with its International Australian Partners, Community Solutions Incorporated, is planning to provide the community with a portable water facility by the end of the year.

Mr Mike Zuri, Upper East Regional Coordinator of Better Life Aid and Tours, said this during a community vision durbar at Sherigu-Nyorkoko attended by chiefs, assembly members, opinion leaders, women groups and the youth.

He said that, apart from providing the water facility, it would provide the community with schools and health facilities.

“Our NGO with support from our international partners would also adopt the orphans in this community and put them in schools and to ensure that they complete to become responsible leaders,” Mr Zuri said.

Ms Monique Power, the Country Coordinator of the NGO, said the Community Solutions Incorporated in Australia has already started raising funds for the earmarked projects.

She said “I envisage a brighter future for Sherigu-Nyorkoko community, and we expect that every member of this community would participate in implementing the project.

The Chiefs and people of the area commended the NGO for their pledge, saying their top priorities for the area includes access to water, school, health and irrigation facilities.
