Mr Kwame Jantuah, Executive Director of Peace Petroleum Limited, on Wednesday, appeared before an Accra Fast Track High Court to give evidence on the case involving the sale of Ghana Telecom to Vodafone.
Mr Jantuah, Member of the Convention Peoples Party, who appeared on behalf of the plaintiffs, told the court that they entered the process as concerned citizens.
He said the plaintiffs only saw the Sale and Purchase Agreement (SPA) for the sale of Vodafone when it went to parliament, and noticed that there were anomalies that contradicted the laws of the country.
Mr Jantuah said the plaintiffs sent a petition to parliament which was received by the then Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mr Freddy Blay, Mr Malik Yakubu, Minister of the Interior, and Madam Frema Opare, Member of Parliament.
He said certain portions of the document that were the concerns of the plaintiffs were deleted.
“The permit period of 999 years was deleted in the amended version of the SPA and also there were changes in the signatories”.
He said with the original document, Mr Kwadwo Baah-Wiredu and Dr Anthony Akoto Osei, former Ministers of Finance, signed on behalf of government; Mr Dickson Oduro-Nyaning signed on behalf of Ghana Telecom while someone signed on behalf of Vodafone without a name.
He told the court that the plaintiffs noted that the signature form was pasted on the amended version of the SPA.
Mr Jantuah was the last to give evidence in court that is gathering evidence for the Supreme Court on the case of the sale of Ghana Telecom to Vodafone.
Justice Gertrude Torkornu, the Presiding Judge, ordered that all the counsels should file their address by July 25, for reference to the Supreme Court on or before July 31.
