I want to be an ex-convict – Kofi Jumah

Former Member of Parliament for Asokwa Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Maxwell Kofi Jumah, has revealed how he had always prayed to be arrested by the current administration.

Kofi Jumah’s reason is that all those who suffered political persecution – Kweku Baako Jnr, Kwesi Pratt Jnr and lately Kenneth Agyei Kuranchie – suddenly became heroes after they were arrested and jailed.

Speaking on Badwam programme on Adom TV Thursday July 11, 2013, Mr. Jumah divulged how he tried on countless occasions to provoke the current administration by accusing them of doing things wrongly.

The former Kumasi mayor said he was disappointed that his quest to become an ex-convict on many occasions, has failed to materialize.

He was sharing his opinion on the release of the Editor-in-Chief of the Daily Searchlight newspaper, Kenneth Agyei Kurankchie in the early hours of Thursday, after serving a 10-day prison term.

The senior journalist was sentenced by the panel of judges hearing the election petition over a contemptuous publication.
