Satellites match competes with hearing of election petition

Ghanaian passion for politics and football has reached a cross-road. And football has won.

The court ended Tuesday with an announcement. GTV has written to the Supreme Court to consider the competing interest in telecasting the Black Satellites semi-final game and the election petition.

The Black Satellites clash with France in the Semi-final of the ongoing U-20 World Cup in Turkey.

The team earned a place in the last four of the competition after beating their Chilean counterparts 4 -3 in a nail-biting quarterfinal clash.

The match with France will begin at 3pm in Bursa.

This conflict has informed the court’s decision to end proceedings at 2pm Wednesday – a time by which the Supreme Court would have returned from break for the second session of the hearing – to allow the live telecast of the match.
