Takoradi Thermal Plant fixed after explosion

The Takoradi Thermal Plant is now running after Engineers of the Volta River Authority fixed a technical problem there.

The plant was shut down on Friday following an explosion at the switchyard.

The explosion increased the power supply deficit the country is grappling with.

Sam Fletcher, Head of Communications at the Volta River Authority told XYZ News in an interview that the Takoradi Thermal Plant has been fixed.

He added that he cannot tell when repair works on the T3 plant which was gutted by fire will be completed.
