Nungua Lifts Trophy In A Special 3-Day Game To Mark Homowo

Kpone (GAR), Aug 26, – Nungua traditional area lifted the overall ”Homowo” trophy in the special three-day games which ended at Kpone at the weekend. The games, organized by the Tema Development Corporation (TDC), were part of activities marking this year’s celebration of the ”Homowo” festival in Nungua, Tema and Kpone traditional areas. Nungua won the men’s soccer gala when they beat Kpone 5-4 on penalties in the final match. Tema won the women’s division soccer to lift the cup donated by Accra Brewery Limited and 150,000 cedis as their prize. In the tug-of-war (men), Nungua came first while Kpone won the women’s division encounter. Nungua had 780 points for the first position in the men’s playing cards contest and Tema were second with 620 points. In the regatta, Nungua were first, follwed by Tema. Among those present was Mr Joshua Alabi, Greater Accra Regional Minister.
