Too much lies, hypocrisy in the Church – Duncan-Williams

The Archbishop and General Overseer of the Christian Action Faith Ministries, Nicholas Duncan-Williams says: “The level of lies and hypocrisy in the charismatic church is unbelievable”.

Speaking at a special Republic Day Service at the Action Chapel Prayer Cathedral, Archbishop Duncan-Williams said he harbours a lot of pain in his heart because of the extent of envy and rancour among pastors and reverend ministers of the charismatic faith.

“Anytime God gives us opportunity as a Church, instead of us to unite, we fight one another; for everybody wants his own,” he bewailed.

According to him, such fights among pastors were the bane of Ivory Coast.

“…That’s what happened in Cote d’Ivoire,” he revealed, explaining that: “…The Problem in La Cote d’Ivoire [was] that all the pastors were fighting one another…there was a group of them who were Gbagbo’s pastors; there was another of them who were Gbagbo’s wife’s pastors. So you have the wife’s pastors who were telling her what God is saying, and you have people who were pastors to Gbagbo the President, and they were fighting one another, breaking one another’s head,” with gossips and rumours.

He said the same scenario is playing out in Ghana’s Christian landscape.

“The same thing [happened] when Prof. Mills came,” Archbishop Duncan Williams revealed, adding that there was “fighting amongst men of God,” with “everybody wanting to go [to] the Castle” to see the late president.

According to him, the level of fighting amongst pastors in Ghana could plunge the country into an abyss and, therefore, urged unity to forestall such level of rot.
