34-year-old Ama Akyaa, a mother of two has been butchered allegedly by her drunk boyfriend at Tarkwa Maakro, a suburb of Kumasi.
Luv FM’s Erastus Asare Donkor reports that a close friend and co-habitant of Ama Akyaa told him around 3 a.m Thursday June 27, 2013 after knocking on the door several times, Ama Akyaa’s boyfriend forcibly entered their apartment and started hacking at her with a sharp knife.
The victim was reportedly heard begging the man for mercy, but the alleged drunken man did not stop – instead he kept on stabbing the woman.
Ama Akyaa’s friend tried to restrain the man and attempted to seize the knife from him, but she was overpowered.
The man allegedly stabbed himself in the stomach in a suicide attempt but did not die.
