Fire guts Adansi North district assembly office

Reports reaching Myjoyonline.com indicate that fire has gutted the District Assembly Office of the Adansi North Constituency in the Ashanti Region. The cause of the fire has not been ascertained yet.

Narrating the incident to MyJoyonline.com, the District Chief Executive (DCE), Alhaji Latif Majdoud, said but for the timely intervention of the Ghana National Fire Service, the fire would have spread to other properties.

The fire started around 10pm on Friday.

He said he suspects the security man at post reneged on his responsibilities, and may even know more about the cause of the fire. He said he has asked the Police to interrogate him.

District Police Commander, DSP Daniel Anane Amoah has confirmed the incident to Myjoyonline.com. He said the security man at post on the night of the fire is a prime suspect, and has been detained to assist with investigations.
