Government unveils late President Mills anniversary

President John Dramani Mahama has set up a planning committee to draw up a programme to mark the first anniversary of the passing away of President John Evans Atta Mills.

This is in line with custom and tradition, and in consultation with the family of the late president, who died on the July 24, 2012.

A statement signed by Mr Mahama Ayariga, Minister of Information and Media Relations and copied to the Ghana News Agency on Tuesday, said the committee is under the Chairmanship of Mr Kofi Totobi Quakyi and has its secretariat at the State Protocol Office, State House, Accra.

“All enquiries relating to the customary first anniversary celebration should, therefore, be channelled to the secretariat,” the statement added.
