Most Reverend Vincent Sowah Boi-Nai, Catholic Bishop of the Yendi Diocese, has appealed to Ghanaians to accept the verdict of the Supreme Court in good faith at the end of the 2012 election petition.
He also asked the media to be circumspect in their report on the case and Ghanaians to pray for a peaceful resolution of conflicts in the country.
Bishop Boi-Nai made the remarks at a workshop organized by Satellite Peace Centre of Yendi Catholic Diocese, to train 20 women from Yendi and Gushegu in the Yendi Municipality, in peace building.
He said participants after the training would be expected to serve as peace mentors and advocates in the municipality.
Bishop Boi-Nai advised women to promote peace in their communities since conflict affects them and children most.
He appealed to the people to promote truth, dialogue, reconciliation, social healing and restorative justice.
Bishop Boi-Nai asked security agencies, traditional rulers and youth groups and other stakeholders to collaborate to promote peace in society.
The Secretary of the Yendi Satellite Peace Centre, Mr. Peter Atia, commended the Center for Conflict Transformation and Peace Studies based in Damango, for supporting the Peace Centre to train women in peace building.
