Presby Church submits gay scandal report to DOVVSU

The Presbyterian Church of Ghana has handed over its internal investigative report of an alleged gay sex scandal involving one of its pastors, Reverend Kingsford Kusi-Kyere to the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU).

Seven young men aged between 20 and 28 accused Rev Kusi-Kyere, head pastor of the Abokobi branch of the Church in Accra, of engaging in homosexual acts with them.

The men are all workers on the Church’s farm of which Reverend Kusi-Kyere is the manager.

After weeks of investigations, the committee set up to look into the matter by the Church has submitted its interim report to DOVVSU to continue with the investigations.

Speaking to Citi news, Greater Accra Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Freeman Tetteh confirmed receipt of the report from the Presbyterian Church.

He also revealed that Kingsford Kusi-Kyere has submitted a statement to DOVVSU to aid in investigations.

DSP Freeman Tetteh said DOVVSU is working assiduously to unravel the truth and ensure justice is served.

Meanwhile, the leadership of the Presbyterian Church has vowed not to shield anyone involved any act that would bring the name of the Church into disrepute.
