Emergency load shedding ends

The off-peak load shedding exercise started last week has ended on Tuesday June 4.

Power providers started an emergency load shedding exercise following delays in the delivery and processing of crude.

It created a power supply deficit of more than 200 megawatts.

Deputy Head of Communications at the Energy Ministry, Ras Liberty Amewode, in an interview with XYZ Business said power supply will improve as two thermal units start running today.

The Energy Ministry earlier gave an assurance that the temporal load shedding will end within the stipulated period of one week.

Mr Amewode added that consumers should bear with the ministry as it works to stabilize supply.
