Christians urged to avoid empty-noise making pastors

Reverend Samuel .A. Amoako, Ho East Presbytery Moderator of the Evangelical Presbyterian (E.P) Church, has advised Christians to stand firm in their faith and avoid “empty pastors who make loud noises.”

He said: “The greatest deceit in Ghana is the making of loud noises by pastors,” and warned Christians against such pastors.

Rev. Amoako gave the advice on Sunday at an induction service for Rev. Richard Mawutor Buamah, who would serve as an assistant pastor in the Agotime-Ave District of the Church.

“There is emotion in worshipping God, but not making deceitful noises without swallowing saliva,” he said.

Rev. Amoako said it was important for Christians to walk by faith and not by sight and stop moving from one prayer camp to the other.

“Economic, social and political challenges are temporary and must not move us from our faith,” he said and added that Christians must be wary of false prophets and false men of God.

He observed that some Christians had stored “several gallons of holy water and anointing oil from Prophet Samuels, Bishop Joshuas and others, for bathing and cooking.”

Rev. Amoako said anointing oil and holy water could not replace God and urged Christians to seek God and not holy water and anointing oil.

Inducting Rev. Buamah into office, he urged him to “stay close to God”.

Rev. Buamah expressed gratitude to the congregation and pledged to serve God and the Church faithfully.
