Teachers urged to instill discipline in children

A civic education officer at the Afigya-Kwabre District of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has urged teachers to work hard to instill discipline in school children.

Miss Anokyewaa Sakina said that was the way to help school children to grow into useful and responsible citizens.

She was interacting with teachers and pupils of the Ntiribuoho Junior High School (JHS) as part of activities to mark this year’s Citizenship Week celebration.

The occasion, which was held under the theme: “Everyone Counts”, was also used to plant trees.

Miss Sakina spoke of the need for parents to accept to cooperate with teachers to infuse in children the spirit of nationalism and the values of tolerance and integrity.

Additionally, she said, they should live up to their responsibility to their children by providing them with their basic school needs.

She advised the youth to respect the elderly and those in authority.

Again, she said, they should keep to their books and refrain from acts that were unhelpful to the development of their academic careers.
