Detention of Omari-Wadie heightening anger amongst NPP loyalists – Awuku

The main opposition NPP says the detention of its former Constituency Chairman, Michael Omari Wadie is heightening anger amongst the party’s grassroots supporters and could lead to adverse consequences.

Mr. Omari Wadie was picked up by the Bureau of National Investigations on Monday for allegedly posting on his Facebook wall, a nude picture of a man caught having sex with a woman in an office.

President Mahama’s face had been transposed on the original photo, to portray him as the man in the picture.

A Deputy Communications Director of the Party, Sammy Awuku in an interview with XYZ News said Leaders of the NPP may succumb to what he described as frustrating pressure from the party’s supporters to take things into their own hands.

“Our supporters believe that there is a deliberate attempt to always intimidate them…so they [BNI] are making our work very difficult, and I am getting frustrated”.

“To be very honest with you I can vouch that Omari Wadie will not be the originator of this picture because I had seen that four weeks before [it was posted]” Mr. Awuku said.
