We have to solve ECG challenges – Manager

Abraham Anokye Abebresse, Acting Eastern Regional Manager of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), has urged Heads of Departments at the regional offices to help find solutions to the myriad of challenges facing the company.

He said “we need to be able to painstakingly change the attitude of our staff to be able to meet the challenges facing us.”

Mr Abebresse was speaking at a Refresher Training in Performance Management for the Heads of Departments in the Eastern and Volta Regions held in Koforidua on Saturday.

He said there was the need for a total overhauling of the conscience and thinking of their staff, adding, “Indeed there is the need for paradigm shift in our attitudes.”

“I believe that if we as managers are able to re-orient the thinking of the staff for them to see ECG as their own and protect it in any way possible, then we can accomplish our goal.”

Mr Abebresse urged the Heads to adopt a positive attitude to work and contribute to the success of their company no matter where they find themselves.

“This is because we are either part of the problem or part of the solution,” he said.

He also urged them to work hard to change the perception of Ghanaians about the company.

“Let us work hard to change the perception out there that we are a corrupt organization which renders its services to the highest bidder,” he added.
