GAF dispatches assessment team to Mali

The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has dispatched a technical assessment team to Mali to assess the conditions of the Ghanaian contingent in the African-led International Support Mission in Mali, (AFISMA).

A statement signed by Major E. Assan of GAF Public Relations Directorate and copied to the Ghana News Agency on Wednesday said, the assessment team is led by Brigadier General Emmanuel Tetteh-Akunnor, Chief Staff Officer at Army Headquarters.

Other members are Colonel M’Bawine Atintande, Director Public Relations, Colonel Abubakari Issahaku, Director Logistics at the Department of International Peace Support Operations and Lieutenant Colonel Rogatus Komlaga, Deputy Director Plans.

The statement said the team would inspect the contingent’s equipment and stores, receive detailed briefing on the operations of the contingent as well as the entire AFISMA force.
