Fire guts KNUST’s ceramics department

Fire has reportedly gutted the ceramics department of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi.

It mainly affected the offices and studios of that department.

The Deputy Registrar of University Relations, Mr G A Ankamah Lomotey who confirmed the fire outbreak to XYZ News said some equipment in the offices and studio of the department were destroyed by the fire.

The fire broke out on Friday April 19, 2013 in the morning, he added.

Fire Service officials rushed to the scene to put out the fire. They are expected to commence investigations as to what caused the outbreak of the fire.
