Bawumia continues his evidence on Day-Three in Court

Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, running mate for Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the December 2012 elections on Thursday continued his evidence on day three of the Supreme Court hearing of the petition filed by his party.

Led in evidence by Mr Philip Addison, Lead Counsel for the petitioners, Dr Bawumia’s evidence was based on affidavit responses filed by the first, second and third respondents, namely President John Dramani Mahama, the Electoral Commission and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) party respectively.

The petitioners in the ongoing case are Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party, his running mate Dr Bawumia and Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey, Chairman of the NPP, who are challenging the outcome of the 2012 elections.

In the course of the day’s proceedings, Counsel for the respondents in the petition would cross-examine Dr Bawumia on the evidence he has presented to the Court.
