Thief jailed nine years

A 21-year old unemployed man arrested for breaking into the room of a tutor of the Bontefufuo Senior High School (SHS) at Esaase in Amansie West, has been sentenced to nine years imprisonment by the Nkawie Circuit Court.

Kennedy Appiah was charged for unlawful entry and stealing, and he pleaded guilty.

Police Detective Sergeant Jonas Adjei, told the court presided over by Justice William Boampong that the crime was committed on December 26, last year at about 1300 hours.

A security officer of the school spotted him carrying a traveling bag from the room of the tutor and raised the alarm.

Appiah managed to slip through but was arrested the following day in his room by the youth of the town and handed over to the police.
