George Adjei –Hinneh, Brong Ahafo Regional Director of Education, on Tuesday cautioned this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates to avoid examination malpractices, which can lead to the cancellation of their results.
He said that examination malpractices could destroy students when caught by invigilators.
Mr. Adjei-Hinneh gave the advice when he visited BECE examination centres in the Sunyani Municipality.
He said efforts have been made to prevent examination malpractice this year.
Mr Adjei –Hinneh noted that the region for the past two years has been on top for engaging in examination malpractices, and called on parent to warn their children against such practices.
He asked student to study hard so that they could pass their examinations. Mr Adjei –Hinneh asked the candidates to obey rules and regulations governing the examination.
At the Sunyani Senior High School, 1,339 candidates were writing the examination this year as against 659 last year.
In all 33,923 Senior High School students are taking part in this year’s examination as against 18,000 last year.
Out of the total number of students writing the examination this year 18,801 are males and 15,127 are females.
