Nkoranza Launches Month-long Helath Programme

Dromankuma (B/A), Aug. 20, – The Nkoranza District Health Management Team (DHMT) has launched a month’s health programme to educate the communities on some basic health needs. The programme will be carried out in the seven health sub- districts to ensure active community participation. Topics being discussed include ”the importance of immunization,” ”environmental sanitation”, ”the use of iodated salt”, and ”the importance of family planning”. Launching the programme at Dromankuma, near Nkoranza, the medical assistant in charge of Yefri health post, Mr L.D. Narza, urged assembly members, unit committees and opinion leaders to mobilise the people to keep the environment clean as a protection against communicable diseases. Mr Narza stressed the need for the people to provide themselves with sanitary facilities such as toilets and refuse dumps.
