The Goaso Police in the Brong Ahafo Region have arrested a 30-year-old food vendor for poisoning domestic animals in her community.

Rukaya Abdulaih is suspected to have killed about ten domestic animals, including goats, sheep and dogs through poisoning for unknown reasons.

Mohammed Atiweni of Success FM said a bench warrant was issued by the Goaso Magistrate Court leading to her arrest.

“According to a source at the Asunafo North health offices, Madam Rukaya on the 25th of March, 2013 put some poisonous substances into some food for the animals in the house,” he stated.

Mohammed Atiweni further added that “she was summoned to appear before the sanitation office in Goaso but she failed to show up and due to this the Goaso Magistrate Court issued a bench warrant for her arrest.”
