NADMO workers urged to intensify education on disaster management

Mr. Ransford Owusu Boakye, Eastern Regional Coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) has appealed to workers of the organization to intensify education on disaster management.

He said with the onset of the rainy season, it had become necessary to undertake such exercise to help avert or reduce disasters.

Mr Boakye was addressing NADMO staff from the municipalities and districts in the region when he went on a familiarization tour to ascertain challenges facing the organisation in the region.

He called on stakeholders, especially religious bodies, to use their platforms to educate their members on disaster management.

Mr Boakye appealed to NADMO workers to upgrade their skills and knowledge in disaster management, and asked individuals, organisations and the government to help provide NADMO offices with equipment to facilitate its work.

He asked the organization to make provision for motivation for disaster volunteer groups.
