Walewale rainstorm kills one more

One more person has been reported dead as a result of the Walewale rainstorm. This has brought to five the number of deceased while 20 injured persons are responding to treatment at the Walewale Government Hospital.

Available statistics indicate that about 700 residents of Walewale Township have been displaced.

The Northern Regional NADMO Coordinator, Alhaji Abdulai Silimboma in an interview bemoaned the situation and called on philanthropists and other benevolent organizations to support the victims.

So far, 10 out of the 26 districts in the Northern Region within a space of one month have been hit by severe rainstorm and NADMO is yet to adequately attend to them.
