Relative calm returns to Kpemali

Calm has returned to the troubled Kpemali community in the Bunkprugu district of the northern region.

Reports are that more security personnel have been deployed there to maintain order.

This was after renewed clashes between some Konkombas and Bimobas last Wednesday which claimed three lives while several houses were also torched.

A youth leader in Nakpanduri, Tibey Ali in an interview said, “There is no cause for alarm now, the military personnel came in their numbers last night and they are making their patrols.”

According to him, residents of Nakpanduri who sought refuge at the Nakpanduri scarps have returned home.

The Member of Parliament for Bunkprugu, Hon. Solomon Boa who rushed to Nakpanduri on a fact finding mission was glad that the combatants ceased fire.

He pleaded with the security personnel on the ground to attach human face to their operations.

Hon. Boa appealed to residents of Nakpanduri and its environs to cooperate with the peacekeepers.
