Man shot dead after fierce fight with a family

A suspect, Kwaku Ennin, 35, from Amia-Ba in the Central Region on Wednesday shot neighbour Kwesi Annan, 33, at a close-range in the neck resulting in his instant death.

According to Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam District Police Commander DSP Seth Tay, the deceased and the wife Kuukuwa, 25, were returning home after attending the 56th Independence Day celebration at Ajumako-Afransi.

DSP Tay said while the couple was on their way a misunderstanding ensued between them and the suspect confronted them to ask why they were quarreling on the road.

The response from Annan did not go down well with the suspect and he quickly went for his gun and shot Annan in the neck and later bolted into the bush together with his gun.

The body of the deceased had been deposited at the Cape Coast Hospital.
