Two suspected Fulani armed robbers arrested at Mpraeso

The Nkawkaw Divisional Police last Thursday arrested two suspected Fulani armed robbers at Mpraeso who were planning to mount a road block on the Hweehwee-Sempoa road.

The suspects, Mahama Bani and Ibrahim Umaro are believed to be the armed robbers who shot at an Urvan bus driver and two market women, and robbed others of their money and mobile phones on the Hweehwee-Sempoa road a month ago.

The Nkawkaw Divisional Crime Officer, Police Superintendent Nana Kweku Duah, made this known to the Ghana News Agency in an interview at Nkawkaw.

He said following a tip off, the police kept surveillance and arrested Bani and Umaro who were travelling on an unregistered motor bike at Mpraeso heading towards the Sempoa area.

The Divisional Crime Officer said the victims of the robbery incident have been invited to come and assist in identifying the suspects.

He said the suspects had been remanded in police custody by the Mpraeso Circuit Court for two weeks to enable the police to complete their investigations.
