Police caught on tape brutalizing SHS students in E/R

Some Police officers in Akropong Akuapim in the Eastern Region have been caught on tape assaulting some students of Mount Sinai Senior High School in the area.

The officers had been called in to resolve a confrontation between the students of the school and their colleagues in Okuapeman Senior High School during an inter-colleges sports tournament but were caught on tape brutalizing the students of Mount Sinai Senior High School when the misunderstanding had been resolved.

Speaking to a history teacher of Mount Sinai Senior High School, Isaac Asiedu Odi indicated that the incident occurred when they were about to leave the sports field but unknowingly, onlookers had called for Police reinforcement.

“The Police pounced on my student when he (Police) met him getting out of the field. When the boy came back he had a cut on his head,” he said.

He further narrated that he sent the student to the Police officer and inquired what the student had done “but they replied that I should ask the boy, so I told them that the boy said he hasn’t committed any offence but while the debate was ongoing, another Police officer from nowhere came and slapped the student again.”
