Police to investigate attack on spokesperson of LMVCA

Police at Mataheko near Afienya are investigating an alleged attack on the spokesperson for the pro-NPP pressure group Let My Vote Count Alliance (LMVCA).

Some assailants allegedly fired several gunshots into David Asante’s residence at Afienya over the weekend.

The assailants, who allegedly threatened to kill Mr Asante, left after destroying some property outside the house.

In an interview with XYZ News, Mr. Asante said the attack could be politically motivated.

Mr. Asante said: “the common sense approach to this is that, a robber won’t come and stand in front of your house and say I will kill you so I have discounted that robbery concept.”

He added: “but indeed somebody thinks that politically I am up to something and so somebody somewhere feels jittery and has resorted to intimidation and this tactics then I will not give up.”
