Rainstorm hits Tamale and Yendi

No death has so far been recorded in the Tamale Township and the Yendi Municipality after heavy rainstorm caused damaged to several properties, Thursday evening.

The communities affected in Yendi included Kumfong, Nayilifong, Balogu and Zohi.

The Assemblyman for Kumfong, Musah Aminu in an interview said the storm caused damage to both private and government buildings in his electoral area.

He said the storm also caused total blackout in the Yendi Municipality.

The NADMO Northern Regional Coordinator, Alhaji Abdulai Silimboma, said his outfit was assessing the situation to ascertain the havoc.

He however complained about inadequate relief items and called for more support from the NADMO headquarters.
