Update: Deluxy paint fire quelled by Fire Service

Personnel of the Ghana Fire Service have managed to put out the fire that engulfed one of the warehouses of the manufacturers of Deluxy paint.

The officers battled the blaze for close to three hours.

According to Citi News reporter, Pearl Ofori, “They (Fire Service) are still unable to tell us what the cause of the fire is. There are no casualties but one of the staff I spoke to indicated that one person, by name Mary, collapsed and has been rushed to the Lakeside clinic.”

The property on which the incident occurred houses two companies; Hexagon Limited producers of Flamingo, Anchor and Deluxy paints, and Food Tech, producers of Snappy.

The city of Accra recorded over seven fire outbreaks in the month of January alone with several occurring in the industrial area.
