No NDC member will tamper with pink sheets – Asiedu Nketia

The governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) has dismissed recent media reports of the alleged arrest of some NDC activists and Electoral Commission (EC) officials attempting to validate pinks sheets months after the 2012 elections.

The NDC has described the allegations by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) that the EC and the NDC are signing pink sheets to aid them in their court case are untrue.

After the arrest of some EC officials at Savelugu, there have also been reports that some NDC activists were also arrested in Chorkor in the Ablekuma South constituency also signing pink sheets.

In an interview with Citi News, the General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia stated that the constant allegations from the NPP is an indication of their desperation.

“I have been hearing those reports but each time I hear them, they make me laugh because it tells you that the NPP is very desperate in trying to prove a case where none exists.”

He further stated that members of the NDC are “very, very rational and we take actions that are rational and that is why any attempt to present us tampering with pink sheets here and there cannot stand.”

Mr. Nketia opined that the NPP is desperately trying to prove that their pink sheets differ from that of the other political parties and the Electoral Commission (EC).

“If anybody is tampering with the pink sheets, it can only benefit NPP in court so why should the NDC be engaged in tampering with the pink sheets that will go to supply and support NPP case in court?” he asked adding that “I think every rational human being should understand this simple logic that if anybody is attempting to tamper with Electoral Commissions pink sheets, then that person is working for the NPP.”

He insisted that no NDC member in his or her right senses will tamper with pink sheets.
