Kofi Adams tackles NPP over Mahama’s address

Kofi Adams has registered his displeasure at the way and manner the State of the Nation address delivered by the president has been criticised by opposition politicians.

He said bigwigs of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have made conscious effort to twist the rather impressive delivery by the president to suit their interests.

The spokesperson of former President Rawlings said this on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” programme last Friday.

“Is the NPP expecting President Mahama to work magic within January 6 to February 22? This is a calculated attempt to twist the meaning of the address,” Mr Adams asserted.

According to him, what the President did was to give account of late President Mills’ term, to indicate the direction of the country in the next four years.

Mr Adams was however confident that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration would be able to execute promises contained in the address.

“On health problems, the President has promised to build infrastructure such as chip compounds to help prevent mothers who die during child labour.

“If somebody tells me that the President did not give any indication as to what should be done and that there is no hope, then I don’t know what the person wants to say,” Kofi Adams queried.

Though he admitted that there were serious challenges with the West African Gas Pipeline which helps in the provision of power supply across the country—he was quick to add stringent measures have been put in place to reverse the trend.
