Surgery of Siamese twins postponed again

The surgery of the Siamese twins has been postponed for the second time.

The operation was last week rescheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, February 19, 2013 because of a fever they suffered.

Though their condition stabilized over the weekend, the fever happened again Monday, prompting the surgeons to reschedule the surgery.

Pediatric surgeon at the Komfo Anokye Teaching hospital who is also part of the surgical team, Dr. Nimako Boateng says they will continue their diagnosis to ascertain exactly what is causing that.

Dr. Nimako said the babies will be closely monitored until sometime next week when the surgery will be performed, depending on their response to treatment.

Meanwhile Multimedia Group Limited and MTN Foundation have made their respective donations to the hospital and mother of the Siamese twins.

Multimedia and its listeners made a total donation of Ghc 12,970 to the mother, while MTN Foundation redeemed their Ghc 20,000 pledge.

General Manager for the Northern Sector of MTN, James Basintale made the presentation on behalf of MTN while Business Development Manager for Luv FM and Nhyira FM James Aglah, made the donation on behalf of Multimedia and its listeners.
