Births and Deaths Registry cries for help

Daniel Adade, Director of the Eastern Regional office of the Birth and Death Registry, has called for support so that the facility could operate effectively.

He appealed for the posting of more personnel to the office and the provision of a vehicle to facilitate work.

Mr Adade told the Ghana News Agency in Koforidua on Thursday that the office has only 38 workers, including volunteers.

He, however, praised Plan-Ghana International, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), and the United Nations International Child Education Fund (UNICEF) for supporting the office with computers and other packages.

Mr Adade appealed to parents to register their babies or children at the office.
