Appointments Committee resumes sitting

The Appointment Committee of Parliament will today vet five other ministers designate.

The minister designate for Government Business in Parliament, Benjamin Kunbour; Trade and Industry Ministry, Haruna Iddrisu and Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Marietta Brew Appiah Oppong will be appearing before the Committee.

The rest are Energy and Petroleum minister, Emmanuel Armah Kofi Boah and Dzifa Ativor who is headed for the Ministry for Transport.

The Committee will vet five more ministers designate on Friday.

Ms Fanny Sherry Ayittey (Ministry of Health), Mr Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah (Ministry of Youth and Sports), Dr Henry Siedu Daannaa (Ministry of Chieftaincy and Traditional Affairs), Mr Kwesi Ahwoi (Ministry of Interior) and Mr Mark Woyongo (Ministry of Defence) are scheduled to appear on February 8.

The Committee has scheduled Nii Armah Ashietey (Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations), Mrs Elizabeth Ofosu-Agyare (Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts), Mr Nyon Bilijo (Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development) and Mr Paul Evans Aidoo (Western Regional Minister) are set to appear on February 11.

Mr Samuel Sarpong (Ashanti Region), Mr E.K.T. Addo (Central Region), Mr Bede Ziedeng (Upper West Region), Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo (Greater Accra Region) and Mr Alhassan Azong (Presidency) would be heard on February 13.

Five persons to serve at the presidency would be heard on February 14.

They are Dr Mustapha Ahmed, Mr Abdul Rashid Hassan Pelpuo, Mr Fifi Kwetey, Alhaji Lumina Mohammed Muniru and Mrs Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe Ghansah.

Parliament has already vetted and approved two sets of nominees.
