Bible Society launches Bible Week in Takoradi

The 2013 Bible week of the Bible Society of Ghana has been launched with a call on Christians and non-Christians to demonstrate integrity and respect for all humans.

The week under the theme: “The Bible and National Cohesion” is to foster stability as well as coordinating the smooth running of key places such as the home, the school and the wider society.

Mr. Kweku Kum, Takoradi Area Council Member of the Society, said the theme has also been chosen to enable the church and the individual Ghanaian to reflect on God’s favour and protection for Ghana.

He said the week would afford the country an opportunity to thank God for the gift of the Bible, promote unity in diversity, raise funds as well as building the nation particularly after the general elections.

Mr. Emmanuel Coffie, Head of the Takoradi Office of the Society, said the Bible Society would continue to work in reaching every home with the Word of God, make it affordable and encourage its use to transform lives.

The Society established in September 1965, has distributed lots of scriptures and translated the Bible to Ghanaian languages.
