Nation’s wealth lies in human resource development -Chief

Nana Kofi Agyei IV, Chief of Adum-Kwanwoma near Kumasi, has noted that the nation would not be able to compete keenly in the global economy unless stakeholders invest massively in human resource development.

He said human resource development as pertained to specific areas such as Information, Communication and Technology , industrialisation, sanitation, water, nutrition, agriculture, oil and gas, medicine as well as the environment ought to be given the needed attention.

Nana Agyei said the nation’s wealth lies in her human resources as “you need knowledgeable and skilled labour to transform any society for the better”.

He was speaking to the Ghana News Agency at Adum-Kwanwoma on the sidelines of a ground-breaking ceremony for work to commence on the Kwanwoma Boys’ Senior High School building project.

The six-storey facility is being funded by the Atwima-Kwanwoma District Assembly and the chiefs and people of the area.

It is aimed at promoting quality education amongst the youth for their meaningful lives in future.

Nana Agyei acknowledged the huge potentials inherent in the youth in the area, saying it was the responsibility of stakeholders to come together and contribute meaningfully to harness them.

He said the traditional council would not relent in its efforts to initiate projects in the areas of health, water and sanitation, as well as infrastructural development to enhance the living conditions of the people.

Mr Tony Nyame, District Chief Executive said the Assembly would be supportive of initiatives that would help to raise the standard of living of the people.
