Ahanta West to benefit from Oil Enclave Road project

Some roads in the Ahanta West District of the Western Region would be asphalted as part of the Oil Enclave Road project.

The Western Regional Director of the Ghana Highways Authority, Mr. Edmund Offei-Annor, said the Sankore/Cape Three Points road would be captured in that project.

He said this at a stakeholders’ meeting held at the district capital, Agona-Nkwanta, on Friday, following complaints about the bad nature of roads in the district.

Mr Offei-Annor said the Highways Authority had responsibility over trunk roads in the Region and not town roads and, therefore, advised the district assembly to lobby for rehabilitation of certain roads.

The District Coordinating Director, Alhaji Mohammed Jacktar Hardi, said the Assembly would soon start constructing roads to new settlements in the district to facilitate the government’s policy on Street Naming and House Numbering Project.
