Yendi MP commends constituents

The Member of Parliament for Yendi, Hon. Alhaji Mohammed Habib Tijani has commended his constituents for their peaceful conduct during this year’s Damba festival celebration.

There were reports of heightened tension in Yendi ahead of the Damba festival but the event went on in a peaceful atmosphere.

It is against this backdrop, the Yendi MP has reiterated his call for reconciliation and unity in Dagbon.

Hon. Habib Tijani also praised the security agencies for their professional conduct during and after the festival.

“This is a unique opportunity for us to reinforce the reconciliation in Dagbon and I will like to first of all commend the security agencies for the way and manner they handled the situation.”

To him, the non violent nature of the Damba festival marked another mile stone in the history of Dagbon.

Hon. Habib Tijani anticipated that such activities will attract investors to the area.

He challenged the youth to re-channel their resources into productive ventures rather than creating room for self seeking individuals to use them to foment trouble in their localities.
