GIS has not commenced any recruitment exercise for 2013

The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) on Thursday said it has not embarked on any recruitment exercise for the year 2013.

A statement issued by the Service in Accra stated categorically that it had also not engaged the services of any persons to conduct any recruitment exercise on its behalf, and that the Service was not selling recruitment forms, neither had it taken any decision to recruit new staff yet.

The statement indicated that the GIS had received information that certain miscreants were spreading contrary information, with the motive of defrauding unsuspecting members of the public, with claims that they were agents of the GIS or had recruitment forms for sale.

“The GIS is therefore by the publication, advising the public to report to the Police, persons who come to them demanding money with the supposed intention of assisting them to secure a job with the GIS, and also posing as job contractors or agents with the Service”, the statement said.

It indicated that recruitment exercises would be duly advertised in the local newspapers and asked that any clarification on their recruitment procedures or training programmes should be sought from the Public Affairs Unit or any of the Regional Offices of the GIS nationwide.
