Mr George Omane, National Chairman of the Association of Methodist Men’s Fellowship, has appealed to the members to dedicate themselves to promote the spiritual and physical growth of society.
“The expectation is that we would all accept to work together to build a more vibrant and spirit-filled fellowship to transform the society,” he said.
Mr Omane was speaking at the 27th anniversary celebration of the Wesley Society Men’s Fellowship at Old-Tafo in Kumasi.
He urged them to collaborate with other organizations, both within and outside of the church, in pursuit of “our common humanity.”
He commended the branch for its significant contribution to the development of the Men’s Fellowship in the Kumasi Diocese, saying “as the third to be established in Kumasi and the 15th in the country, your impact has greatly been felt”.
Mr Edward Asante-Nketiah, Diocesan Chairman of the Fellowship, announced plans to build a 100-bed capacity hostel at the church’s Retreat Centre at Kwadaso from their own resources.
A teak plantation is also to be established to generate funds to support the implementation of projects and programmes initiated by the Fellowship.
The Rev Aboagye Prempeh, Sectional Minister of the Old-Tafo Circuit of the Church, advised them to lead pure lives and reject all traits of arrogance and stubborn pride.
