Zoomlion to build compost plant at Adagya

Zoomlion Ghana Limited, a waste management company, is to establish a compost plant to produce organic manure for use by farmers at Adagya in the Bosomtwe District.

Mr Stephen Gyekye-Darko, its Ashanti Regional Manager, said this would be done in partnership with the Food and Agriculture Ministry.

He said they had already acquired a vast stretch of land for the project and paid the appropriate compensation.

Speaking at a press soiree held in Kumasi by the company, he said actual construction works would commence next month and expressed confidence that the plant would help contribute to increased agricultural production, when fully operational.

He said the littering of the streets with rubbish and dumping of waste at unauthorized sites needed to stop and spoke of plans to establish “Zoom Clubs” in schools across the country to aid school children to adopt healthy attitudes to keep the environment clean.
