No fire Hydrant at Half Assini

The absence of water hydrant at Half Assini area is making fire fighting very cumbersome, the Jomoro District Fire Officer, Mr Joseph Bubae, has said.

He said the situation had also compelled his outfit to travel to Bonyere, about 16 kilometers to collect water for their activities.

Mr Bubae said rivers and streams in and around Half Assini are either shallow or salty which cannot be used for their operations.

He said if the hydrants are not built immediately, it would be very difficult for them to fight a major fire outbreak in the area.

In reaction the Jomoro District Chief Executive, Mr Sylvester Dadie, has urged the officials of Fire Station to contact the Ghana Water Company to submit and estimate on the construction the Water Hydrant to the district assembly for consideration.
