Mahama’s 4,800 witnesses decision not a delay tactic – Lawyers

Lawyers for President Mahama have rejected claims by the president’s critics that their client’s intention to call 4,800 witnesses to testify in the election fraud case is a delay tactic to frustrate the process.

President Mahama filed his response to the petition in a 15-page document over the weekend stating why the claims of the NPP officials are untrue.

The President through his lawyers stated that the petitioners’ allegations amount to a brazen attempt to find excuses for losing the 2012 presidential election.

The intention of the president to call almost 5,000 witnesses was also, according to his lawyers, to prove that the whole petition lacks merit and should be dismissed.

A member of the ruling NDC’s legal team, Abraham Amaliba who has studied the president’s response in an interview with XYZ News said the President has a solid case.
