Hajj Committee dissolved

President John Dramani Mahama has in consultation with the National Chief Imam dissolved the National Hajj Committee.

A statement signed by the Spokesperson to the President, John Abdulai Jinapor, said the dissolution of the Committee takes immediate effect.

The President has meanwhile appointed Ibrahim Abdul Rauf Tanko, a former Member of Parliament for Yagaba-Kubori in the Northern Region, to manage the activities of the Hajj Committee until a substantive Committee is constituted.
